World Meter
A shared bar that fills as everyone plays. When it is full, a server-wide event window opens.
The World Meter is a bar the whole server fills together. /meter shows it.
What fills it
Points come from play that adds to the world:
- generating new chunks
- killing withers and the dragon
- counted player kills
- breaking obsidian or crying obsidian
- newcomers joining
Points per action, as set now:
| Action | Points |
|---|---|
| New chunk | 1 |
| Obsidian broken | 1 |
| Counted kill | 20 |
| Newcomer joins | 100 |
| Wither killed | 500 |
| Dragon killed | 2,000 |
These values can change after testing. Each type of action has a daily cap per player, and there is an overall daily cap per player. One player cannot fill the bar alone.
What /meter shows
- how full the bar is
- your share, live
- the next planned unlock, or the one that is live
- the top 5 contributors, as of 6 to 12 hours ago, never live
When it is full
When the bar is full, 6d63 approves the next unlock from the console and sets it up. A full bar does not open anything by itself. After approval:
- the unlock is announced about 48 hours ahead
- it lasts 72 hours
- the bar starts again from zero
Unlocks come from a rotation:
| Unlock | What it is |
|---|---|
| Exploit week | A limited time when extra dupes are live. See Dupes. |
| Heads weekend | Player kills drop the victim's head. |
| Double events | More event slots than usual for the window. See Events. |
No unlock can be extended once it is set.
What the meter is for
It gives the server a shared goal that does not need anyone to be in charge. Play fills it. 6d63 gives the window. Nobody gets items or protection from it.
