Concourse

An uncommon End zone. A lit, empty floor covers the whole zone and floats over the void.

Concourse is a zone type in the End. One flat floor covers the whole zone and floats over the void. It is lit, and there is nothing on it.

What it looks like

  • One floor, one block thick, at the same height across the whole zone.
  • The floor is end stone bricks. Purpur lines run along every chunk border, so the floor shows the chunk grid.
  • End rods stand on the floor, about eight blocks apart. They light the whole floor, so endermen do not spawn on it.
  • Where an island is higher than the floor, the island rises through it. Where an island is in the way of a rod, the rod stands as close to its place as it can.
  • There are no walls, no rails and no roof. At the edge of the zone, the floor stops over the void.

The floor is only added into empty air. No island is cut.

End cities and chorus

End cities are made after the floor. A city can stand on the floor, and the floor can run straight through a city's low rooms.

Chorus does not grow on the bricks, and little chorus grows on the islands under the floor.

Where

Only in the outer End, far from the main island, the exit portal and the gateways. The main island is never touched.

The floor is solid, but the void is under it. Falling off the edge kills you.

How rare it is

Concourse is an uncommon zone. About 1.3 percent of End zones are Concourse, about one zone in 76. It exists in the End only, and only in End land far from anything that existed when it was added. The End near the main island never gets it, so go far.

There are no other chunk errors inside the zone.

See Chunk errors for every zone type, and Exploring for how finds are logged.
