Rules

There is one rule. Here is what it means and what is allowed.

The only rule

Do not crash or lag the server on purpose.

That is all. Even this rule is not a ban reason. Nobody is banned, muted or kicked for anything they do in game. When something causes lag, 6d63 changes the server so the problem stops. The player is not punished.

What is allowed

You can:

  • Use a hacked client. There is no anticheat.
  • Fly, use speed, use combat modules and any other client feature.
  • Grief and raid. Nothing is protected.
  • Kill other players.
  • Use dupes. Dupes are never patched because they are dupes. See Dupes.
  • Use exploits.
  • Break bedrock. The Nether roof is open too.

The server has one physics limit. Your speed is capped at 147 blocks per second. If you go faster, you are slowed. You are not kicked or banned. See Travel.

What 6d63 will do

  • Restart the server.
  • Update the software.
  • Fix lag by changing settings or hardware.
  • If a mechanic crashes the server or drags the tick rate down for everyone, fix that mechanic in code or config.

Fixes of that kind are recorded with the date in 6d63's public log. See Lag and performance.

What 6d63 will never do

  • Ban, mute or kick a player for what they do in game.
  • Roll back the world.
  • Reset the map. Every chunk is kept forever.
  • Give out items, teleports or protection by hand.
  • Sell anything that gives an advantage.

/constraints shows the same promises in game. See The Console.

What does not exist

  • /tpa of any kind
  • /home
  • /spawn
  • Kits
  • Voting rewards
  • Land claims, including for cohorts. See Cohorts.

What this means in practice

Nobody is looking after your base. If you build something valuable, other players can take it. If you carry something valuable, other players can kill you for it. The server keeps the record of what happened, and nothing is undone.

Some systems add safety to your own information, not to your items:

  • /seen never shows a location.
  • Player IP addresses and private messages are not written to the server logs.
  • /stats private hides you from the top lists.
  • /atlas optout hides your name from the explorer lists and server firsts.

Lag and the rule

If you are testing a lag machine, be aware that the server may slow your effect down. For example, huge chains of TNT are spread out in time so the server stays smooth. Nothing is lost. Every lit TNT still explodes, only later. This is a change to the mechanic. It is not a punishment, and it does not target you.
