Orrery

A rare End zone. Rings of identical stone discs hang in the void around one point.

Orrery is a zone type in the End. Rings of floating stone discs circle one point at the centre of the zone. Nothing else is there.

What it looks like

  • At the centre is a large disc of end stone. A column of purpur pillars stands on it, with an end rod on top.
  • Around it are six to ten rings of small discs. The discs on a ring are evenly spaced, and the rings are evenly apart.
  • Every disc in a zone is the same size: end stone, two blocks thick.
  • Each ring floats a little higher than the one inside it, so the rings step up from the centre outward.
  • Where a disc meets an island, the island keeps its shape and the disc joins it.
  • Where the zone ends, the rings stop.

The discs are only added into empty air. No island is cut. Chorus can grow on the discs, as on any end stone. The rod on the column is the only light.

Where

Only in the outer End, far from the main island, the exit portal and the gateways. The main island is never touched.

The discs float over the void with wide gaps between them. Falling kills you.

How rare it is

Orrery is a rare zone. About 0.4 percent of End zones are Orrery, about one zone in 251. It exists in the End only, and only in End land far from anything that existed when it was added. The End near the main island never gets it, so go far.

There are no other chunk errors inside the zone.

See Chunk errors for every zone type, and Exploring for how finds are logged.
